Funding

Funding

Developing content and maintaining the site takes a lot of time and effort. We do a lot of stuff for free in our profession, which is what I’ve been doing for 30+ years now. Volunteerism is critical and has been critical for the development of our associations. But given the tangible and intangible costs of this undertaking – not to mention the importance of this project –  I believe that we need to approach this a bit differently, and try to fairly compensate those involved in the project. Here is the funding structure for the group.

Donations / Suggested Donations

Please be aware that because LMT Body Politic is a politically-oriented group, donations are not tax deductible.

Currently, all donations will be handled through PMT Seminars LLC, the educational arm of LMT Body Politic.  I am looking at developing a partnership with a not-for-profit business association – a 501(c)(6) –  to provide an organizational structure for some of the offerings on the site. Stay tuned for that. But for now, all donations will go to support the site. The tangible costs of maintaining a website and all that goes with it.

Some items / products on the site will be offered on a donation basis, with a suggested minimum donation. The Political Action Fund monies will be set aside to cover the costs associated with lobbying and setting up a group to lobby on behalf of our profession.

Fee for Service

Some items / products on the site will have a set fee (like continuing education). We don’t have that fully set up yet, but will be open to suggestions on this.

Monetizing the Site / Fundraising

No one likes ads, but they do bring in revenue. Eventually, we’ll figure out how to monetize the site and add some advertising, grants, and sponsorships. If you have any ideas or thoughts on how to make that happen, please leave them in the comments below.

Your Support is Needed!

All of the above is just in the planning stages right now. In the meantime, I’d appreciate it if you’d click the Donate button to support this endeavor.

Thank you!
